Surfer Skateborder Mural – Carolee Merrill

I finished this 10′ x 40; surfer, skate border mural recently in Santa Ana, Ca. Here is my client’s review:

“I wanted to write a quick review despite rarely ever writing reviews. Huge kudos to Carolee Merrill and the incredibly talent and service she provides. I found Carolee on Craig’s List to do a huge wall mural painting which is roughly 40 feet long and 10 feet high. It is at an indoor “playground’ with batting cages, mega trampoline, skate half pipe, etc. The mural says “The Playground” in the middle and has a surfer in a barrel on the left and a skater getting air out of a half pipe on the right. It is unreal!

I have had so many people come through there in the past few weeks since she wrapped up and EVERY single person comments on how incredible the wall looks and asks who did that? Well her name is Carolee Merrill and she lives in HB and she has a bird on her shoulder named Tweety. It is quite the dynamic duo. You will find Carolee to be straight forward, pleasant and funny, fast, no haggling, fairly priced, incredibly talent, gives more than she was contracted to give and just an all around good human being. To anyone that is looking for a top notch artist in OC don’t look further than Carolee Merrill!” Mike Z. Irvine

CHOC #HOSPITAL BEACH #MURAL

This is one of eight murals I painted for Choc Children’s Hospital of Orange County. The mural themes are reflective of the themes of the eight floors of the hospital. This is a whimsical depiction of the beach with various beach creatures such as a crab, birds and tide pool life.

The Lauren Small Children’s Medical Center is named in honor of Lauren Small, a local girl who inspired the community through her brave two-year battle with cancer.. Transforming a Water Heater into a British Phone Booth

How can you hide a large, boxy, unrelocatable water heater-in-an-industrial-metal shed that’s about to become the centerpiece of your newly landscaped English backyard garden?

Turn the shed into a British telephone booth.

But how?

After nixing construction of an entirely new metal shed fabricated to look like an authentic K6, we sought out an artist to create more of a storybook-like interpretation. You’ve probably guessed that since this review is on Carolee’s page, we selected her. What you don’t know is we selected her completely on the merits of her web portfolio � and an artist who started out as a stranger has now become a friend.

More significantly, her work, as well as her work ethic, turned out to be remarkable. And while no guest has (yet) drank enough to attempt a phone call, Carolee’s stunning finished art did achieve our goals of hiding the shed in plain sight, completing the yard, and eliciting smiles from all who enter.
