The Lauren Small Children’s Medical Center is named in honor of Lauren Small, a local girl who inspired the community through her brave two-year battle with cancer.. It was an honor to be a part of this project, and it is my hope that the murals will bring joy to the many children who will visit the center throughout the years.

TROPICAL PARADISE #MURAL – #MURALIST CAROLEE MERRILL

I painted this mural for my client in Palm Desert. It is 16′ x 66′. I painted it during the summer, and the temperature was between 100 and 110 degrees every day- and I had to share an outhouse with 10 other contractors! It was quite an accomplishment!

In my living room and restaurant one feels transported to a tropical paradise. Both my home and restaurant were under construction when she painted the murals, so the conditions she worked under were very arduous. Many of the days it was 105-110 degrees with 20 workmen running saws and creating dust. In the midst of all this she created two lovely murals. Transforming a Water Heater into a British Phone Booth

How can you hide a large, boxy, unrelocatable water heater-in-an-industrial-metal shed that’s about to become the centerpiece of your newly landscaped English backyard garden?

But how?

After nixing construction of an entirely new metal shed fabricated to look like an authentic K6, we sought out an artist to create more of a storybook-like interpretation.
