Surfer Skateborder Mural – Carolee Merrill

I finished this 10′ x 40; surfer, skate border mural recently in Santa Ana, Ca. Here is my client’s review:

“I wanted to write a quick review despite rarely ever writing reviews. Huge kudos to Carolee Merrill and the incredibly talent and service she provides. I found Carolee on Craig’s List to do a huge wall mural painting which is roughly 40 feet long and 10 feet high. It is at an indoor “playground’ with batting cages, mega trampoline, skate half pipe, etc. The mural says “The Playground” in the middle and has a surfer in a barrel on the left and a skater getting air out of a half pipe on the right. It is unreal!

I have had so many people come through there in the past few weeks since she wrapped up and EVERY single person comments on how incredible the wall looks and asks who did that? Well her name is Carolee Merrill and she lives in HB and she has a bird on her shoulder named Tweety. It is quite the dynamic duo. You will find Carolee to be straight forward, pleasant and funny, fast, no haggling, fairly priced, incredibly talent, gives more than she was contracted to give and just an all around good human being. Transforming a Water Heater into a British Phone Booth

Tuscany Murals# – Muralist# Carolee Merrill

I have painted many Tuscany murals throughout Orange County and Los Angeles County. This one is in Newport Beach in a private residence. I painted it just after visiting Tuscany, and imbued the mural with my lovey experience.

I am fortunate to have visited Tuscany several times in my life for about three weeks each visit. I am completely enamored with Tuscany- the lush Tuscan landscape reminiscent of Renaissance paintings, the friendly people, the wonderful food and wine. Loved it all!

Paradise Aquatic Mural# – Muralist# Carolee Merrill

Here is a tropical aquatic mural I painted in Palm Desert. As you can see in the first picture below, the room was huge- 16′ x 66′. The picture shows only about 1/3 of the room. In the picture you can see I am a bit overwhelmed.

In addition to the size of the project, I painted it during the summer when the temperature ranged between 100 to 110 degrees. It was a new construction- so no air conditioning or indoor toilet. Yes- I shared the outhouse with 20 construction workers. I remember being in the outhouse feeling miserable, and thinking, “If this was a movie, this would be the funny part.” I laughed and shared my insight with the guys, and they all laughed.

It took 2 1/2 months to complete. It required me to be completely diligent- focusing only on working, eating and sleeping. I would put on my headphones, listen to music and allow the energy of nature to to flow through me into the mural. I am very proud of my accomplishment!

New Murals# at Shopping Center in Mission Viejo – Muralist# Carolee Merrill

I recently painted lettering and floral murals at a shopping center in Mission Viejo. I was initially a bit nervous as I had to operate a 60′ boom to reach the top of the towers, as you can see in the second picture.
